I’ve mentioned in at least one other post that I sometimes use Google Trends to find relevant topics. Usually this is a fruitless effort as the things trending don’t really interest me as they are related to some pop star, sports, or the latest politician or movie producer wrapped up in a sex scandal. Now, don’t get me wrong, I love the one true sport — American, College Football (don’t hate 😉 ). My team sucks this year though, and the season is almost over. Anyways, back on topic. I thought it would be fun to do some search comparisons on Google Trends. I may make this a regular weekend thing as the weekends are slow for the Big Guys.

Big Guy vs Little Guy vs  Average Guy

Today’s Google Trend comparison answers the question, “Which guy are the people searching for most — The big guy, the little guy, or the average guy?” As it turns out, we’ve got this one by a mile.

As you can see above, there have been way more searches for big guy than there were for little guy and average guy combined over the last year. I haven’t been able to find exactly why yet, but you’ll notice that during the month of March this year, the searches for little guy made a break for the title but fell short. I went back a few years to see if maybe there was something in March that just happens to relate to little guys (leprechauns anyone?), but this year was the only year I saw a spike like the one pictured above.

It’s also worth noting that we Big Guys see a spike most years between Thanksgiving and Christmas. I guess that can be attributed to all of the good food and popular big guys like Santa Claus, Krampus, and Chewbacca (there’s been a Star Wars movie every year for the last 2 or 3 years right?).

Breaking it Down by State

If we go even further and break it down by state, you can see that the map is painted in blue (big guy). A lot of states apparently don’t care enough to search for any of us. When will they realize that we’re not all the same!
