Affiliate Disclosure

Effective May 22, 2026

Big Guy on Stuff (bigguyonstuff.com) participates in affiliate programs. This page explains how those programs work and how they affect what you read here. The site is operated by Tommy Dempsey, operator of Big Guy on Stuff (bigguyonstuff.com).

The plain version

When you click a link to a product on another site (most often Amazon) and then buy something, this site may earn a small commission. You do not pay any extra. The commission comes out of the retailer’s margin, not your wallet.

Amazon Associates

As an Amazon Associate I earn from qualifying purchases.

Big Guy on Stuff is a participant in the Amazon Services LLC Associates Program, an affiliate advertising program designed to provide a means for sites to earn advertising fees by advertising and linking to Amazon.com. Amazon links on this site use search-result URLs that include an affiliate tag. When you click one, a cookie is set in your browser on Amazon’s domain. If you complete a purchase within Amazon’s cookie window (currently 24 hours), this site receives a commission on qualifying items, including items you may buy that are different from the one you originally clicked.

Amazon’s commission rates vary by product category. As of this writing, most categories pay in the 1-7% range; some pay less. The full schedule is published by Amazon at affiliate-program.amazon.com.

Other affiliate programs

If posts include links to other affiliate networks or merchants, they will be marked or noted at the time. Currently, Amazon Associates is the primary program in use.

How affiliate links affect what gets written

The commission a product pays is not a factor in whether it gets covered, recommended, or criticized. Many posts here are about specific products (chairs, mattresses, gear) that have been used personally; the honest assessment of those products comes first and the affiliate link, if it exists, is added second.

When a post discusses a product the author has not personally tested, it is framed as research-based rather than a personal review. See the editorial standards mentioned in posts themselves and the About page for how that distinction is drawn.

What if I do not want to use affiliate links?

That is completely fine. You can copy the product name from any post and search for it directly on the retailer’s site without using the link. The site will earn no commission from your purchase, and that has zero effect on your access to the content here.
